Your brain rewrites a memory every time you recall it. Stickiness is built, not born.

02 · Module Color System

Six branches. One brain.

Each branch of psychology has its own color, so you always know which area you’re in. See teal, think brain. See magenta, think social behavior. The system builds intuitive navigation across articles, flashcards, slides, and worksheets.

Face of desiree clemons. Psychology researcher and educator. Creator of the psychology notebook

05 · About the Creator

Desiree Clemons,

Psychology Educator & Creator

My path to psychology wasn’t traditional. It was necessary.

I didn’t start college fresh out of high school. I started after serving in Iraq, raising two kids, and spending years trying to make sense of experiences that didn’t fit a textbook framework. Psychology gave me language for that.

That’s why I teach it.

I completed my Master’s in Psychology with a capstone research on moral injury among military veterans. I also teach psychology at my local community college and help guide new students as they build confidence, direction, and the skills to succeed.

But beyond credentials, I understand what it feels like to come to psychology from the outside. That’s why I teach it in a way that is evidence-based, practical, and human, not just so people can memorize the science, but so they can actually use it.

If you’re here to study, to understand yourself better, or to finally make sense of behavior you’ve seen your whole life, then welcome, this space is for you. You don’t need a perfect academic record or a therapist’s couch. You just need the right entry point.

That’s what The Psychology Notebook is.

The voice you’ll hear

● Conversational

Like a smart friend explaining over coffee.

● Approachable

No jargon walls, no gatekeeping.

● Encouraging

You’re not behind. You’re learning.

● Academically Credible

Translating science, not dumbing it down.

Psychology, but with a Sasquatch.

Frank shows up across the brand as a friendly case study — when an article needs a real-life example of conformity, attachment, or working memory, Frank is there to live it out. Concepts get sticky when they’re attached to a character you actually like.
