About

The Psychology Notebook

Psychology that finally makes sense.

The Psychology Notebook creates visual, research-informed learning resources for students, educators, and curious minds who want to understand psychology without getting buried in jargon.

Why The Psychology Notebook exists

Psychology is fascinating. Studying it can be unnecessarily confusing.

A definition may look familiar while you are reading it, then disappear the moment you need to explain it on an exam. Similar terms begin to blend together. Long videos become difficult to search. Notes pile up without giving you a clear way to review.

The Psychology Notebook was created to solve those problems. Each resource is designed to connect a clear definition with a real example, a visual idea, and an active way to practice. The goal is not to make psychology simplistic. It is to make the learning process more organized, memorable, and useful.

Meet Desiree Clemons

I am Desiree Clemons, M.A., a psychology educator, researcher, U.S. Navy veteran, and the founder of The Psychology Notebook.

My path into education was not traditional. After military service, I returned to school through the GI Bill while raising two sons and running a small business. I know what it is like to learn while carrying responsibilities that do not pause just because a class has started.

I eventually earned an M.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Therapeutic Arts. My graduate research examined moral injury and psychological distress among more than 150 post-9/11 veterans. I also completed formal preparation in collegiate teaching and now teach college-level psychology.

That combination of lived experience, research, and education shapes everything I create. I care about accuracy, but I also care whether an explanation is clear enough to use.

How the resources are built

Every resource follows the same study system:

  • A clear definition that keeps the important meaning intact.
  • A concrete example that shows what the concept looks like in real life.
  • A visual connection that makes an abstract idea easier to remember.
  • An active review step that asks you to retrieve, explain, compare, or apply the idea.
  • Organization that helps you find one term without searching through an entire lesson.

What you can expect

  • Free psychology videos with timestamps for every term in the pinned comments
  • Visual study guides, flashcards, and digital notebooks
  • Print-friendly and physical study options for learners who prefer paper
  • Editable psychology lessons and classroom resources for educators
  • Clear explanations grounded in established psychological science

Who this is for

The Psychology Notebook is for the student preparing for an exam, the educator building a lesson, the adult returning to psychology after years away, and the curious learner who simply wants to understand people and behavior more clearly.

You do not need a perfect academic background or unlimited time. You need a clear place to begin and a study process you can return to.
